Green, Ginger, & Blueberry

Oh the joys of trying something new! Take this Tazo Green Ginger tea, for example. (Which I stole from Dean). It runs smooth down your throat with a hint, or should I say a super-mega dash of ginger. If you like the real taste of ginger, this is for you, though it's very hard to get used to. Add a bit of lemon and we are in business!

So where does the blueberry come in, you ask?

Blueberry muffins! (They go great with tea)

*Wow, these muffins are amazing! (Yes, I just tasted one and are bursting with flavour.) I put fresh blueberries inside and once baked into the muffin, the blueberry bursts into an explosion of juiciness.

I can't wait to have another!

My Two Favourite Men

Ben & Jerry

Oh these two delectable men sure know how to make a girl feel good with the perfect blend of banana ice-cream, walnuts, and chocolate fudge chips.

After the day I had yesterday, I most certainly needed it. Stressing over classes and assignments, feeling like I was getting behind, and having to deal with the half-baked people I work with, the only cute was the oh so pleasurable Chunky Monkey. (This means extra time at the gym!)

I did have some warm tea just to calm me as well. (And a fortune cookie, for good measure.)

Hopefully the week will get better from here. Prayers!!!

Work it....out!

So I went to the gym this morning after making myself a nice healthy breakfast with my tea* and some toast and peanutbutter. I try to go at least 4 or 5 times a week in order to get fit, gain muscle, and de-stress myself.

I think that was the main reason today. To just get rid of the world (by watching Bones and running for about an hour). Yeah, we both know how dead people and exercise just calms me.

Hopefully I can keep it up, but who knows, I'm watching the beginning of bones so I have about 8 more seasons to go and hopefully enough hours in the day to exercise. (When I'm not wanting to stab my textbooks.

One way ticket

All I gotta say is I am currently addicted to this song! I think it sums up what I was thinking while I was back in Miami about our relationship! Soooo cute!

This will deff be on repeat for a while <3

No such thing as too many bookmarks!!!

So every now and then I go on these bookmark making sprees...Friday was one of those days. I started off making the monster bookmark and then somehow or other I ended up with 7 of  them!

I don't know if you have ever noticed but I love for my bookmarks to match the book I'm reading in some way. Might be in color/shade, or in just feel of the book, I don't know but in my mind there is some sort of filter that eliminates possible bookmark choices for a particular book until I am happy with one. I've not gone totally crazy...I swear!!!

Last week I saw just how serious I am about this. Morgan brought home the book '172 Hours On The Moon' and I was about to read it when I realized I needed a bookmark. And in a matter of seconds I knew the only bookmark that would work. I got up, went to my shelf, got out a journal, took out an envelop from the side pocket, and pulled out my Korean bookmark. Now, keep in mind this has been stashed away since 11th grade when I received it as a gift from our buddy team in World Finals. But in my mind it was meant for this book!!! I only used it like 3 times for breaks because I read it all in one sitting...that would happen.

Anyways, these are the bookmarks I came up with. (With what materials I could scrounge up)

Close Up

Well there you have it! My little creations. I really love the red/pink paint sample one. And they are sooo easy to make! I'll definitely have to send some bookmarks your way when I send you your package! No worries, I'll let you in on my loveeee! :)

Who says comics are for nerds?

So I painted my nails, once again, because you know me, I can't have one design or one colour on for too long.

I wanted to try something new and fun, and what better than comic book- pop art nails?

WARNING: Don't try this at home.

I've had my fair share of hard designs but this just takes the cake. Yes, the whole cake!

Don't be fooled by the cute designs and the spring colours. This is a mess just waiting to happen and will probably drive you to drink. Ok, maybe not that far but still, they were a real pain to do...harder than my "once in a blue moon" French manicure.

Next time, if there is a next time for the comic-design, they will be done in sharpie!

(P.S. I only had the patience to do one hand. Story of my life.)

The crochet queen...NOT!

So you remember my enthusiasm over learning how to crochet??? I still have it, but somewhere along the way I lost 'time' or better yet other things took up my time and I had none left to allocate towards this goal. *sigh* Isn't that the excuse we all give?

So this is what has become of that attempt. I've got 5 rolls of yarn, 4 hooks, 2 unfinished projects, and a lovely beginners book, all in a nice little basket tucked away... lot of good that does me.

Seriously there are sooo many cute projects in there that I wanna get to, like a scarf and a super cute clutch!!! Although I will not be able to unless I get back on track and practice. If I can allocated at least 3 hours a week, I would be happy! I probably could if I stopped watching so many youtube videos...but that's for another post.

Maybe in a year or two I'll send you a scarf or a pair of socks, Straw! Just don't hold your breath on it! :)

A massive problem!!!

So I have a massive problem! What is it, you ask? Well I'll show you...

You don't see it yet? There is NO more space on my lovely bookshelf!!! We received these beautiful bookshelves from Morgan's mom when we first moved in. And yes, there are 2 but one is technically Morgan's.

It's a sad, sad day when you no longer have room on your bookshelf and have to start storing some of your books in the dreaded dark cabinet beneath. I swear they were pleading with me to please not leave them alone down there, with only the company of the ever so boring, textbooks. But alas, I had no choice.

I know eventually we will have to get another bookcase but it will probably end up in the bedroom because any bookshelves we attempted to put near these would pale in comparison. I guess on the bright side, the lack of space is a sign my collection is growing!!!

But I do have a current favorite part of my bookshelf. The second top shelf to the right is my little Straw corner!!! I have the book you sent me, the two I bought with your gift, the glass you bought me for my 21st, and a little cupcake to top it all off!

I absolutely love this little corner!!! Even though I am totally out of space I still love my bookshelf very much. It is hands down the most colorful spot in all of the apartment. My little ray of sunshine!

Tea Addicts Anonymous

I am obsessed with tea. No, beyond obsessed. I probably make at least 3 or 4 cups a day.

I don't exactly know when this addiction started, I just know that it did. I never used to like tea. It's an acquired taste for sure, but I have become accustomed to it, I like it.

First it was Passion tea. The Starbucks blend of Tazo passion tea with lemonade, their trademark sugary syrup and a bit of ice. Then I cut the lemonade and syrup, opting for brewed tea, iced and some equal substitute.

Green tea was never my first choice or second for that matter, but it has become an addiction, much like my taste for guys with tattoos and the latest shoes on display. Just add a little lemon, some sugar, two cubes of ice and you're set!

So two teas down, maybe next week's tea will be black tea or orange blossom or some raspberry mix. Who knows?! All I know is that my tea adventures aren't over just yet and I'm addicted!
